What is Safeguarding?
- Protecting Children from abuse and maltreatment
- Preventing harm to children's health or development
- Ensuring children grow up with provision of sage and effective care
- Taking action to enable all children and young people
- 'The welfare of the child is paramount' (The Children Act 1989)
At St John's we believe that safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is every member of the team's responsibility; we all have a role to play. At all times we consider what is in the best interests of the children. Our team is supported to understand their role through clear policies and procedures and regular training based on Hampshire models which are regularly updated in line with the latest statutory guidance.
You can see our policies below. We also have a 'Keeping Children Safe' page with more information.
