Inclusion day 2023
We held an Inclusion day in school at the end of September. Mrs James organised a fab and fun filled day for the whole school to take part in, along with Portsmouth in the Community (Mr Plow_ and the sports leaders from School.
The playground was an array of colours as the children arrived in different colours of the rainbow.
They started the day with an assembly all about inclusion, and practiced the song ‘Rise Up; using Makaton signing, which Key Stage 2 children then performed to parents at the end of the day.
We had a visit from the Portsmouth mascot Nelson, along with ex footballer, Alan Knight.
On top of this, the Makaton Choir then gave a lovely performance of their songs to the parents this afternoon.
Well done children, we are very proud of you. – Inclusion day was a fine example of St Johns doing what St John’s does best!
