We have put a wealth of information below to try and give you a overview of what it is like to attend St Johns Primary School.
If you have not yet applied for a school place, you can also book in to come and visit us to meet our Headteacher who will show you round our School.

New Entrants Meeting
If you have been offered a place at our school, you will receive a welcome information pack which includes lots of dates for your diary.
The key dates are below -
New Entrant Welcome Meeting New Entrants meeting Wednesday 1st May 2pm or 5.30pm This meeting will give you the opportunity to meet the St John’s team and learn about vital information regarding your child’s start in school. Please let the office know which meeting you will attend. On the meeting day please sign in at the main office. |
‘Stay and Play’ in the Reception Classroom Week Beginning Monday 3rd June 10-11am or 1.15—2.15pm This session gives you and your child the opportunity to see the Early Years setting and meet the team. Parents will sign up for a convenient time to visit this week. |
Home Visits and Teacher’s visit to Pre-school setting - During June We will visit all the children in their Pre-school setting in June, this helps to inform class groups and ensure the children have time with St John’s teaching staff to support the transition process. Some children will have a home visit in June AND September. |

SCHOOL TRANSITION DAYS Nursery Rhyme Session - 11th and 12th July Parents and children are invited into school for a morning or afternoon session to share songs, play games, complete craft activities and begin to settle into their new school environment. Home visit and start date information shared with families. |
HOME VISTS and start dates Home visits September 2024 - Tues 3rd, Weds 4th and Thursday 5th. A half day visit into school for either the morning or the afternoon on – Friday 6th September All children in full time – Monday 9th September 2023 Families will all be invited to a ‘Teddy Bears Picnic’ on Friday 13th September – Time TBC |
