Behaviour Referendum

At school we were thinking of a different behaviour policy so the teachers came up with a day called the behaviour referendum day and we had to make up more ideas for our behaviour policy here is the ideas that we came up with lots of good ideas that the school overflowed with ideas

Rewards

Warnings— given for:

  • A ‘No time out’ treat every fortnight, chosen by the class

  • Team points for good behaviour

  • Smiley faces, merits, stars for good work

  • KS1  - class rainbow for good behaviour cloud for poor behaviour

  • Children awarded ‘lead learners’ / ‘child of the day’

  • Poor attitude and playing about/ being silly

  • Speaking when they shouldn’t

  • Rudeness

  • Not using equipment properly

  • Not settling down to work

  • Distracting others from their work

Time outs— given for:

After School Detention

  • If a child has already been given 2 warnings

  • Some behaviour will result in an          immediate time out—extreme rudeness, leaving the classroom without permission

  • Play fighting and hurting somebody

  • Swearing to an adult or child

  • Throwing objects

  • Making racist remarks

  • Hurting somebody deliberately

  • Not taking care of school property

Parents will be informed by text of Time Outs.

Children who are supposed to be representing the school in a team during the week they are given a time out, will not be able to take part.

  • 2 time outs within a 5 day period and then a third will mean an After School Detention for 15 minutes. (parents informed)

Internal Exclusion:

This is when a child is sent to another classroom or somewhere else in school to do their work. Given for:

  • Continual rudeness

  • Continually refusing to do as asked by an adult

Full Exclusion

This is when a child is not allowed to come to school for a fixed period.

Given for:

  • Threatening behaviour—being aggressive and using extreme language

  • Injury to an adult or child

Rampaging around the school, intimidating staff and children.
